Paul Levy has been a member of CENTRIM since it was founded in the 1990s. His research interests include innovation management, the management of change, creativity and team collaboration. In particular his more recent research has focused on digital innovation, the skills of digital management and mastery, the rise of disruptive innovation including cryptocurrencies and Blockchain Technology. He has also undertaken research into how small to medium sized enterprises innovative on and offline, engaging in projects examining the potential of drop-in action learning to stimulate innovation. Recently he was also involved in research that focused in digital transformation worknig with an in-depth case study approach in the I.T sector.

Paul has supervised at post-graduate level for over a decade and currently is supervising at doctoral level, with international students focusing on the successful implementation of automation and aritifical intelligence in the financial sector. He is also involved insupervision of work examining public and private partnerships and how these relate to innovative behaviour in larger organisations.

Paul has authored and co-authored 7 refereed journal articies based on research into the management of technological innovation, the role of action learning in small business innovation, the rise of horizontal trust and the impact of digital innovation on facilitation practice. He as co-authored and authored chapters on the management of innovation in the supply chain as well as organisation design for the best practice implementation of advanced manufacturing technology. He is the author of three books on digital innovation, change management and technology management. He has also focused on creating accessible forms of his scholarly work by writing regularly for The Conversation, in which he has over half a million readers. Paul is the chair of the Art of Management and Organisation conference which also plays host to the referees journel, the Journal of Organisational Aesthetics. He is also co-chair of the Management and Innovative Technologies bi-annual conference.

Approach to teaching
Paul believes teaching should be student-led and interactive. He uses a wide range of facilitation skills and recently was given an Outstanding Teaching Award at the University of Warwick. He recently authored a teachers' guide at the University of Brighton entitled "Fifty Ways of Enhancing the Student Experience During the Covid-19 Lockdown". This arises from Paul's research and development into innovative ways of teaching and learning online.

Knowledge exchange
For over twenty years Paul has designed and facilitated knowledge sharing and transfer between academia and industry. He as been core to the development of the University of Brighton's PROFITNET programme which has engaged in knowledge exchange with hundreds of SMEs. He awas a co-designer of CENTRIM's award winning DIAL (Drop In Action Learning) project which has facilitated knowledge exchange with hundreds of SMEs in the Brighton and Hove (in the UK) area. He was been involved in three Knowledge Transfer Partnerships in the UK (KTPs)< the most recent of which, in collaboration with Extech Cloud, achieved an Outstanding rating.
