Personal profile

Research interests

I am a doctoral researcher funded by the Doctoral Training Alliance (DTA) Future Societies. My PhD project explores the relationship between climate-related water insecurities and displacement in Newham, London. I engage with political ecology, urban and justice scholarship, rooted in empirical examples of displacement issues amongst marginalised communities, to highlight how climate-displacement issues are occurring within cities conventionally presented as "developed" and "pioneering", notably in climate resilience endeavours. In doing so, I seek to challenge dichotomies which have long dominated research and policy in both climate change and migration sectors, and which continue to hinder just, inclusive and sustainable urban transformations, including: Global North-Global South, developed-developing, centre-margin and human-nature.
