Kate Jessop is a multi award winning director who has had hundreds of international exhibits and has five international distribution deals including Shorts International and Amazon Prime.
She represented the UK in the Best of Women in Film and TV and was selected for the Berlinale Talent Lab both with her portfolio as a Director and with her comedy series chosen for development in the Project Lab. She enjoyed her first retrospective at the Gilbert Baker Film Festival USA in 2019 and then at Czech Republic's Anifilm in 2021.
She has worked across narrative film, artists film, comedy, illustration, live visuals, music video and motion design and undertaken artist residencies in Berlin, Istanbul and Reykjavik.
She has written papers on Animation as Activism and Satire as Feminism which have been presented at numerous symposiums including at Goldsmiths College and UCA Animation Research Centre. She has over 10 years lecturing experience including teaching animation in China, is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has been a visiting speaker at the Royal College of Art and Edinburgh College of Art.
She is also the director of the Brighton International Animation Festival and a regular speaker and jury member on numerous international animation festivals.
