Research interests
Gary Kaye is a practicing fashion illustrator and lecturer. He originally worked in the fashion industry as both designer and illustrator, beginning his career as design assistant to Odile Lançon and illustrator for Promostyl in Paris. He has worked for various trend forecasting companies such as the International Wool Secretariat, Nigel French, Design Intelligence and Scout (Australia) as well as a range of fashion publications including Tatler, Marie Claire, Elle, Cosmopolitan and You magazine.
His current professional practice is as an illustrator and he contributes to Textile View and View 2 magazines on a seasonal basis working alongside several London based fashion/textile studios.
Gary has teaching experience at a number of UK universities and in Denmark, and was previously Senior Lecturer at UCA Epsom for 11 years from 2003 until 20014. He was a judge of the portfolio award at Graduate Fashion Week from 2003 – 2005.
