Personal profile
Research interests
My research interest is in gait analysis, orthotics/footwear biomechanics, musculoskeletal biomechanics, and neuromuscular controls of the body. I have experience in using various biomechanical equipment including 3D motion sensors (eg. Vicon), force platforms, pressure sensors, electromyography (EMG), and 2D video analysis.
Supervisory Interests
I am particularly interested in working with colleagues and students to enhance our understanding of orthoses, footwear and musculoskeletal conditions related management in order to improve the quality of care for our patients.
I have successfully supervised 11 MSc research projects to completion in the past 5 years.
Approach to teaching
I am passionate about the subjects that I teach as well as my research areas. I look to engage students in the latest evidences of research in order to inform their learning and clinical practice. My aim is that, through my teaching and learning support, students will be able to understand both the subject content and the importance of the content in relation to clinical practice. I acknowledge that my students come from diverse backgrounds and have different learning needs. Therefore, my teaching styles are varied depending on the group of students. I am also a fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA).
