Scholarly biography

Andrew Walsh-Lister is a typographer, editor and writer based between the UK and US, where he co-edits the irregular journal / multifarious publishing platform Bricks from the Kiln and works on a range of editorial and curatorial projects. He holds an MFA from Yale School of art and has exhibited and delivered talks internationally at institutions including MoMA PS1, Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts, The Most Beautiful Swiss Books, Mahler & LeWitt Studios London, Wysing Arts Centre, Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, Tenderbooks, Central Saint Martins, Inga Books, Ox-Bow School of Art, Royal College of Art, Chicago Architecture Biennial and Brno International Biennial of Graphic Design. His work is held in permanent collections including the Joan Flash Artists’ Book Collection at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Little Magazines Collection at University College London, Midway Contemporary Art and the National Art Library at the V&A. His research and scholarship has been awarded funding from the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts, University of Illinois Dean’s Research Prize, London College of Communication Teaching & Learning Innovation Fund and Newcastle University NiCap and Bartlett Research & Exhibition Funding.
