Organization profile
The Centre for Secure, Intelligent and Usable Systems focuses on both theoretical and practical research in computer science challenges related to security, intelligence and usability of software systems.
Our mission is to perform world–class research that delivers innovation, knowledge and new practices for the development of secure, intelligent and usable software systems. We support communities and industry through knowledge transfer, creating theoretical, applied, industrial and educational impact. We deliver innovation, new knowledge and practices to support the consideration of security, intelligence and usability as integral aspects of systems engineering process. We investigate and deliver theoretical research across three main areas of interest and their intersection.
Software systems are an important and critical component of human society, used in areas such as healthcare, finance, transportation, power, military, education and telecommunications. As our dependency on software-intensive systems increases, so does the demand to develop and maintain systems that can operate seamlessly in a human-driven environment, where security is of crucial importance and users are not all computer experts and, therefore, they expect that software systems will operate with a certain degree of intelligence.
